Afghanistan Cricket Board announced a 21-player team including reserved players to take on Pakistan for ICC ODI Super League in September.

Afghanistan National Cricket team led by Hashmatullah Shahidi is rather young in terms of players to play three One Day International matches against the mighty Pakistani side.

The three-match series is hosted by ACB in Sri Lanka.

The 21-player Squad though includes experienced Hashmatullha Shahidi and Rahmat Shah as captain and vice-captain respectively and three world-class players-Rashid Khan, Muhammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman- it in the meantime possesses almost nine debutants in its combination.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board with its youngest squad ever might have convinced the fans who have always asked for such a combination but the fact of the matter is that the squad is very rare. In cricket, a previous captain most often plays along with the new leader to guide him and support him in case pressure increases.

Afghanistan national cricket team this time apparently devoid of this credit and two of the previous skippers-Asghar Afghan, Gulbadin Naib- have not been selected for the tour.
