Three people were killed and 11 others sustained injuries during a coordinated attack at the police station of Lashkargah’s first police district last night.
Nabi Jan Mullahkhil, police chief of southern Helmand province told reporters at around 07:00 PM and ended around 04:30 AM this morning.
He said the attack took longer because security forces were very carefully acting during the attack.
He said that the attack started with a suicide attack at the gate of the police station after which another militant entered the police station and began a gun battle with security forces but he was also killed during the clash.
Although Mullahkhil only confirmed the injuries of three policemen in the attack but hospital sources in Lashkargah say that they have received three dead bodies from the site, two in police suits, one in local clothes and 11 policemen wounded.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
