The Supreme Court of Afghanistan confirmed Friday 17th July as the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The announcement by Supreme Court was followed by the sighting of Eid-ul-Fitr moon in Saudi Arabia along with Qatar and United Arab Emirates.
Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated in the first day of the month of Shawal, which follows Ramadan in the Islamic calendar.
Muslims in the United Kingdom and Kuwait will also celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday, while Muslims in other nations such as Iraq and Bangladesh will observe the holiday on Saturday.
According to local media reports in Pakistan, the central Ruet-e-Hilal committee is expected to convene on Friday evening to sight the moon.
