Three foreign insurgents among five were wounded during separate clashes with security forces in Tagab District of north-eastern Kapisa province.
A statement issued Sunday morning by the Ministry of Defense (MoD) states that a group of militants attacked check posts of Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) in Dolikhil and Khoshahal areas prompting gun battles between the two sides yesterday.
MoD statement adds that quickly after the gun battle erupted Afghan National Army arrived at the site and thwarted the militant attack.
One militant was killed and five others including three foreigners wounded during the clashes, the statement adds.
Taliban have not yet commented on the report.
