Abdul Rab Rassoul Sayyaf has warned that the early release of presidential vote results will spark widespread unrest and take the country towards an unresolvable crisis.
Sayyaf was competing in the first round of presidential election and his announced his support to Dr. Abdullah in runoff election.
He urged the Independent Election Commission not release the runoff vote results in the absence of a political settlement between Dr. Abdullah and Dr. Ghani’s electoral camps.
Sayyaf warned that early release of vote results will further deepen the political crisis in the country and will have a negative impact over the security situation of the country.
He said the creation of divisions and suggestion of a parallel government will not help the country to move forward and urged all parties involved in electoral process to reach a final agreement considering the stability of the country and safety of people.
