The Afghan Taekwondo athelete Robullah Nikpa will appear in his first fight in World Taekwondo championship in China.
He will compete against his Belgain Taekwondo athlete today in Guangzhou city of China.
The championship started on 3rd July and 32 best Taekwondo athletes from around the world will compete in the championship.
Nikpa is currently placed at 13th among the best Taekwondo athletes of the world. He made history as he gave Afghanistan its first ever Olympic medal in Beijing 2008, also a bronze in the men’s 58 kg.
Until Beijing, Afghanistan had taken part in 12 Olympic Games since their first appearance at Berlin 1936, but had never had a medal winner.
Head of the Afghanistan Taekwondo Federation, Abdul Saboor Omari said Rohullah Nikpa is well prepared for his first fight against his Belgian opponent on Sunday.
