The former Afghan parliament member and President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s senior advisor in United Nations Affairs Farkhunda Zahra Naderi has urged the Afghans to use their votes to fight inequalities.
Ms. Naderi made the remarks after registering for the upcoming parliamentary and districts councils elections where she was accompanied by dozens of youths to obtain voter cards.
Speaking to reporters after registering for the elections, Ms. Naderi said the elections will not be successful without the participation of people.
She also added that lack of will and disappointment due to the shortages and inequalities in previous elections would provide another opportunity for vote rigging during the elections.
Ms. Naderi also added that President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has special emphasis regarding the elections and the values of the elections, emphasizing that the President has special interests regarding the future of the country and his career in the light of elections.
According to Ms. Naderi, Afghanistan has given major sacrifices in the past 16 or 17 years to strengthen the democratic values as she emphasized on the contribution of the people to strengthen the democratic values.
She also posted a statement on her official Facebook page, title ‘Our Votes are our weapons against inequalities’, as she emphasized that the shortcomings in the previous elections should not become barriers on the way of the future elections.
The Independent Election Commission (IEC) last month confirmed October date for the Parliamentary and Districts Councils Elections.
