According to Yemeni government officials at least ten people were reported killed and several others were injured after a military helicopter went down in a residential section of Yemen’s capital Tuesday. It is the second deadly air crash in Sanaa in three months.
A spokesman for the Interior Ministry, Mohammed al-Mawry, says the plane crashed into two houses in the al-Qadissiya district on Tuesday.
He did not give a reason for the crash but said military experts are investigating the incident.
In the meantime a senior defense official said at least six civilians died on the ground, two of them children, and the crash injured 21 more people.
The source further added that members of the military who were aboard the copter also died in the crash.
