A relatively heavy explosion rocked Jalalabad city in eastern Nangarhar province early on Monday morning.
Provincial governor spokesman, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai confirmed that three instructors of Nangarhar police academy were killed following the blast.
Ahmadzai confirmed that a motorcycle packed with explosives was detonated near the vehicle of Nangarhar police instructors which was crossing the area.
Provincial police spokeman, Hazrat Hussain Mashriqwal had earlier said at least four people were injured following the explosion.
He said the explosive were planted in a motorcycle and went off while the vehicle of the Afghan police academy was crossing the area.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
