Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the supreme leader of the Afghan authorities, met with Panshir province’s influential people, local officials, and religious scholars, according to authorities.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the current administration in Afghanistan, stated on Twitter on Thursday, December 15, that the supreme leader commended the cooperation of residents in Panjshir with the government.
Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada met with Abdul Qayum Zakir, the Special Military Commander he appointed for the province of Panjshir, Mohammad Mohsen, the appointed governor of Panjshir, the chief of police, and the head of intelligence, the statement said.
The senior official stressed and encouraged cooperation, integration, and unity while downplaying disparities and eradicating prejudice when he informed the residents of Panjshir that the Afghan people and the ruling government are “one.”
This comes as Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, in late September, appointed the former Deputy Minister of Interior, Mohammad Mohsen, and former Deputy Minister of Defense as the governor, and special military commander for Panjshir province in response to the resistance front.
The National Resistance Front (NRF), an armed opposition force against the present government led by Ahmad Massoud, was founded in the northern province of Panjshir. The NRF has fought multiple bloody battles with the forces of the current government.
