The Afghanistan national cricket team will face Zimbabwe during the fifth and final match of a One Day International (ODI) series in Sharjah today.
Today’s match is a series decider game as both Afghanistan and Zimbabwe have won two matches each with Afghanistan winning the first and second match while Zimbabwe leveling the series by two consecutive wins during the third and fourth match of the series.
Afghanistan defeated Zimbabwe during the opening match of the series by 49 runs and secured another victory during the second match of the series by defeating Zimbabwe by 4 wickets.
However, Zimbabwe leveled the series by defeating Afghanistan by 117 runs during the third match of the series and sealing another victory during the fourth match of the series by 65 runs.
This comes as the Afghanistan cricket made a history back in October by defeating Zimbabwe during the final match of a ODI series and for the first time winning a series from a Test-playing nation.
Afghanistan will also play two Twenty20 matches with Zimbabwe with the first match scheduled to be played on Friday, 8th January.
