Reports indicate that Pakistani and Indian forces late Friday night began exchanging fire which continued till Saturday afternoon.
Paktani officials say a 14 year-old girl was killed and another eight year-old injured due to the rounds of Indian forces which landed on civilian houses across the border.
On the other side, Indian Border Security Forces say Pakistani soldiers late last night started shooting their security check posts as well as nearby villages in Kashmir which left a villager killed and nine others wounded.
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) says that Indian soldiers responded accordingly and the exchange of fire took hours.
In past few situation has been tense on the joint border between the two neighboring countries.
Both sides have been shelling heavy and light weapons on each other.
Last week one Indian and two Pakistanis soldier were killed when the two sides exchanged fire.
