Saleh bin Abdul-Aziz Al ash-Sheikh, Saudi Arabia’s Minister on Religious Affairs who is currently in Pakistan has asked Islamabad to join the Arab nation coalition against Huthis in Yemen.
Sheikh Saleh says he is optimistic that Pakistan will send it troops to take part in the coalition which is formed to fight Huthis in Yemen.
Pakistan’s parliament recently voted for not involving militarily in Yemen’s crisis. Legislators said that Pakistan will take the role of a mediator and try to solve the matter through dialogues. But Sheikh Saleh says those who think about mediation in Yemen conflict are wrong and should review their statements.
Sheikh Saleh in an explosive interview with Pakistan’s Geo News which is going to be aired this evening has claimed that Houthi rebels were carrying out massacres in Yemen and that Saudi Arabia only decided to attack them as a result.
Sheikh Saleh has also blamed Iran for spreading an atmosphere of lawlessness and instability in Syria and Iraq and now wants to do the same in Yemen.
“Iran spread an atmosphere of lawlessness and instability in these countries and for that it will have to be accounted for,” Sheikh is quoted by Geo News as saying.
But he says that they will do whatever to stop “Iranian intrusion”.
Internal pressure on Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif was further fueled when a Pakistani delegation visited Saudi Arabia to discuss their part in Yemen conflict. After wide spread demonstrations in parts of Pakistan its parliament rejected Saudi Arabia’s request.
