Ukrainian authorities recently announced that more than 30 people have lost their lives following extensive missile strikes by Russia on a children’s hospital in Kyiv.

International media, citing Ukrainian officials, report that these attacks occurred on Mondy, July 8th, targeting a hospital in the capital city.

According to Ukrainian authorities, significant portions of this hospital in Kyiv have been destroyed in these reported missile attacks, purportedly carried out with cruise missiles.

Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine continues to state that Russian forces targeted various cities across Ukraine with over 40 missiles, causing damage to infrastructure and commercial and residential buildings.

According to the Associated Press, this marks the largest bombing in Kyiv in recent months. Ukrainian Air Force reports that “the attacks during the day included a type of hypersonic missile, one of Russia’s most advanced weapons, which flies at speeds 10 times the speed of sound and is difficult to intercept. The city buildings trembled from these explosions.”

Meanwhile, the escalation of military actions and the devastating impact on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine underscores the urgent need for international intervention and efforts towards de-escalation to prevent further loss of life and destruction.

The situation remains critical as the conflict unfolds, posing grave humanitarian concerns for the region and beyond.
