Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that Israel’s struggle was not over despite the recent agreement between the United States and Iran, arguing that joint U.S. and Israeli military action had prevented what he described as a nuclear threat from Iran.

Speaking at a news conference with Israeli journalists, Netanyahu said the agreement between Washington and Tehran had not fully achieved Israel’s objectives and that his country would continue its efforts. He did not provide further details on what actions Israel might take next.

His remarks come as governments across the Middle East, Europe and beyond have welcomed the emerging U.S.-Iran agreement, viewing it as a potential step toward reducing regional tensions and preventing a broader conflict.

According to U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian officials, the agreement establishes a framework for ending hostilities between the two countries, reopening the Strait of Hormuz and launching a new phase of negotiations on unresolved issues. A formal signing ceremony is expected to take place in Switzerland later this week.

Iranian officials have said discussions on Tehran’s nuclear programme, sanctions relief and other outstanding disputes will continue during follow-up negotiations. Reports on a draft memorandum have also suggested provisions related to a ceasefire, maritime security and the gradual restoration of trade and energy flows, although the full text has not been officially released.

The agreement has already affected global markets, with oil prices falling on expectations that shipping through the Strait of Hormuz could resume and concerns over disruptions to energy supplies may ease. The waterway is one of the world’s most important energy transit routes, carrying a significant share of global oil exports.

Netanyahu’s comments also follow recent disagreements between Israel and Washington over regional security issues, particularly developments in Lebanon. While Israeli officials have insisted on maintaining freedom of military action against perceived threats, the United States has sought to preserve diplomatic momentum surrounding the agreement with Iran.
