According to Afghan government officials, wounded Afghan spy chief – head of the national directorate of security (NDS) Asadullah Khalid will return back to Afghanistan from United States in at least two time.
A governmental source speaking on the condition of anonymity said the last operation of Asadullah Khalid will be done on Tuesday this week.
The source further added that Mr. Khalid will return to Afghanistan after his medical opration was done.
A suicide bomber posing as a Taliban peace emissary seriously injured Afghanistan’s intelligence chief in December last year. He targeted inside one of the agency’s guesthouses in Kabul’s central Taimani neighborhood
Khalid was taken to intelligence hospital in capital Kabul after the attack and was later transferred to coalition forces hospital in Bagram airfield.
He was later taken to United States for further treatment.
Mr. Khalid has been active in backing anti-Taliban uprisings in insurgent-held areas of eastern Afghanistan, and often accused the Pakistani intelligence services of fomenting the insurgency.
