Delivered in the largest hospital of Bangladesh in Brahmanbaria district, the health condition of the baby which is actually conjoined twin sisters is having breathing difficulties.

Mia Jamal, the father of the baby, said he was ‘awestruck’ when he saw his newborn baby. “She has two fully developed heads. She is eating with two mouths and breathing with two noses,” he quoted in a report by AFP as saying.

The baby was delivered by Caesarean and is being treated at the intensive care unity of the hospital. Despite Jamal was awestruck with the delivery of the baby, he said “Still, I thank Allah that she and the mother are now OK.”

Abu Kawsar, owner of the Standard Hospital of Total Healthcare where the baby was born, said the child has only one set of vital organs, citing test reports.

“Except for having two heads, the newborn has the rest of her organs and limbs like a normal newborn,” he added.

Kawsar also added that thousands of people poured into the clinic after news spread of the ‘miracle newborn’.

It is believed that the child is likely having a condition known as dicephalic paragus which an extremely unusual form of twin conjoinment where only a single body develops and occurs 1 in 50,000 to 100,000 births.
