WFP Distributes Cash, Food Assistance to over 10K Families in Six Provinces

The United Nations World Food Program in a series of Twitter posts announced that they have distributed food assistance and cash in Kabul, Kandahar, Kunar, Farah, Herat, and Faryab provinces this month.

As per the information of WFP, the humanitarian aid has reached over ten thousand families in different and remote districts of the provinces.

WFP has distributed food to 1,500 families in the southern Mosahi district of the capital Kabul while the families given food assistance in Panjwaye district Kandahar province reached 3,810 families in the month of April.

The humanitarian assistance in Kabul and Kandahar reached 376,139 families and 488,355 families respectively in the month of March.

“In Western Afghanistan, in Farah City in Farah province, 4000 families have received their cash assistance this month (AFS 3500/ USD 39.50).@WFP reached 230,149 people in Farah province in March.” Reads a Tweet of WFP.

Further, in the Dawlat Abad district of the northern Faryab province, 4043 families were given food assistance whereas 846 households in the remote Sirkanay district of the eastern Kunar province benefited from the aid.

300 other households that were affected by recent flooding in Pashtun Zarghon district of the western Herat province received aid from the WFP.
