We are going to free Iran, U.S president said in a campaign speech

The U.S President, Joe Biden in one of his remarks on Thursday vowed to ‘free Iran’ as tensions between the Iranian government and people have highly increased.

The remarks of the U.S President who told supporters in a campaign event in California on Thursday went viral on the news channels.

Biden did not elaborate further how he would act in freeing Iran by overthrowing the current political system that tens of thousands of Iranian have been protesting against it for several weeks now.

The tensions in Iran arose soon after a 22-year-old Iranian girl, Mahsa Amini was killed by the Iranian government.

According to the reports, over 280 protesters have been killed, many of whom reportedly have been directly shot to dead by the Iran’s army and police who were trying to avoid the anti-government rallies.

Hundreds of others including journalists, women and civil society activists have been prisoned in different states of Iran.

The non-democratic political system in Iran came in place by the Shite religious scholars following the fall of the U.S backed Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi in 1979.
