Eight days of violence between Israelis and the Hamas group in Gaza have passed, but there is still no sign of an end to the skirmish.
The continued bombardment of Gaza has raised international concerns and urging Israel for an immediate end to its airstrikes.
US President Joe Biden has called for a ceasefire after the recent eight days of fighting between Israelis and Palestinians in Gaza, he assured that the US was working strongly on the matter to end the ongoing violence.
According to a White House statement, Biden called on Israel to “continue its efforts to protect civilians.”
The statement added that President Biden also noted the United States’ continued efforts with some partners, including Egypt, to end the violence in the region.
According to the statement efforts are underway for a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinians.
Meanwhile, Germany, Britain, Egypt, and France have also called for an immediate end to the ongoing violence in Gaza and called on Israel to prevent civilian casualties and inflicting harm to the innocent.
At least 212 people, including 61 children, have been killed in clashes between Israeli and Palestine’s Hamas in Gaza.
Tensions between Palestinians and Israelis are often high in East Jerusalem, Gaza and the West bank.
Gaza is ruled by a Palestinian militant group known as Hamas, who fought Israel many times, as Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank say they are suffering due to Israel’s actions and restrictions, on the other hand, Israel says it is protecting itself.
The recent raged violence that led to bombardments, began in mid-April 2021 as a result of clashes between police and the Palestinians, and the threats of evicting Palestinian families in East Jerusalem caused more anger.
There are a number of matters which Israel and Palestine cannot agree on, the major conflict between them is religiously based clashes.
The other issues include Palestinian displacement, Jewish occupation of the West Bank and whether both sides should share Jerusalem, and whether a Palestinian state should be established along with Israel.
Peace negotiations and peace efforts have been taking place for more than 25 years in the region, but both warring parties so far have not reached an agreement that would solve their problem.
