The Afghan and US Special Forces have killed a senior ISIS facilitator involved in recent attacks in capital Kabul.
The NATO-led Resolute Support Mission in a report said the Afghan and U.S. Special Operations Forces eliminated senior IS-K facilitator Yasir during a nighttime air assault raid in Mohmand Darah district, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, May 9, 2018.
The report further adds that Yasir planned and facilitated IS-K attacks against Afghan security forces and civilians in Kabul and along Highway 7, the main corridor for travel from Nangarhar to the Afghan capital.
“Afghan and U.S. Special Operations Forces conduct persistent offensive operations to deny IS-K their stated goal of a caliphate in southeastern Nangarhar,” the report adds.
This comes as the terror claimed responsibility behind the a string of deadly attacks in capital Kabul that left scores of people dead or wounded.
The most recent attack claimed by the terror group was a coordinated raid on a police station in the 13th police district of the city in West of Kabul.
