Uzbekistan electricity to Afghanistan fully reconnected

Afghanistan Electricity body- Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS)- said that importing electricity from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan reconnected and the power has returned to normal.

DABS in a statement said that the 60% electricity from Uzbekistan that was reduced two days ago is fully connected back.

“A technical problem in Teli Marjan plant in Uzbekistan led to a reduction in electricity of the country. Uzbekistan then decided to reduce Afghanistan’s electricity to cover theirs.” Reads the statement.

In the meantime, the spokesman of DABAS Hekmatullah Maiwandi said that Uzbekistan electricity to Afghanistan is fully connected at 7 am Wednesday.

Afghanistan still imports up to 80% of its electricity from central Asian countries and produces only 20% from domestic resources.
