As Afghan National Defense and Security Forces are busy fighting the Taliban in nearly entire Afghanistan, five thousand youths took entry test for National Military academy in Kabul on Sunday, August 1.

The examinees included both boys and girls and are said to enter Marshal Fahim National Military and Defense University based in Kabul.

The Afghan Army Chief of Staff General Wali Muhammad Ahamdzai attended the process and praised the youths for coming forward to join the Afghan army in such a critical situation.

“I want to thank every single one of you for expressing valor to defend Afghanistan in such a critical situation against the sworn enemies of our country.” Said Chief of Army Staff.

Earlier, there were grave concerns over the lack of interest in Afghans joining ANDSF on the whole and the Afghan National Army in particular. Sources familiar with the process had said that youths have dramatically been indifferent to join especially the infantry units of the national army due to the skyrocketed rise in the Taliban offensive.
