A former Afghan policeman commits suicide in eastern Kunar province after he was left without a job and the previous government did not pay his three months’ salary.

As per the report of TOLOnews- A local news channel-, Shaaker was a 16-year policeman and had 38 years of age who committed suicide on Thursday, September 23.

Shaaker had two wives and seven children along with his mother and siblings who were all financially supported by him.

The former policeman committed suicide after he did not find any job and remain without any financial resources to feed his family members.

It is worth mentioning that, nearly ten cases of such have been witnessed in different provinces and Kabul since the Taliban takeover.

The change in regime left nearly 300 thousand security forces members jobless and over one million civil servants all of who have an average of 7 people in their families.

People have been asking the Taliban to get settled and pave the ground for financial activities and jobs so that they can survive.

In the meantime, the people and world have been calling on the international community to help avert the looming humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and have been asking the US to release billions of dollars frozen by the country.
