US special representative to Afghanistan Thomas West said that the US wants the Taliban to succeed against Al-Qaida and added that the de-facto leaders in Afghanistan have begun speedy efforts against ISIS-K.
The special representative has also expressed concern about the presence of Al-Qaida in Afghanistan and said that the US will be sharing the concerns with the Taliban.
The concerns of the west over the presence of Al-Qaida and ISIS-K in Afghanistan mount as the Taliban have repeatedly assured the world that Afghanistan’s soil will not be used against any country.
Thomas West has said that their allies namely France, Germany, and the UK will also engage with the Taliban and will go forward with the Taliban based on shared interests and objectives.
Thomas West who has begun his Asian and European trip will be attending Troika Plus in Islamabad on Thursday, November 11.
The Taliban are also extended an invitation and the acting foreign minister Amir Khan Motaqi will leave Kabul for Islamabad on Wednesday, November 10.
