Donald TrumpThe U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump has said the U.S. forces should remain in Afghanistan to protect the nuclear weapons of Pakistan.

Trump made the remarks during a presidential debate, saying “I think you have to stay in Afghanistan for a while, because of the fact that you are right next to Pakistan, which has nuclear weapons and we have to protect that.”

The Republican frontrunner further elaborated regarding his remarks and said “Nuclear weapons change the game.”

This comes as Trump said last year Pakistan is a serious problem while pointing towards the nuclear weapons of the country amid concerns it could become unstable in the future.

He suggested the involvement of India in the event Pakistan goes unstable, emphasizing that the country could go rogue despite there are some semblance of sanity at the moment as compared to North Korea.

“India’s the check to Pakistan. And you have to get India involved. They have their own nukes, they have a very powerful army. They seem to be the real checkmate. They seem to be the real group, and I would start talking at that level very, very quickly,” Trump added.
