The White House unveiled the allocation for sharing 3 million doses of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID 19 vaccine to Afghanistan.

Karine Jean – Pierre, White House Spokesperson said the J&J COVID-19 vaccine will be shipped to Afghanistan in the coming week.

Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine is the First Single-Shot vaccine which is authorized by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for emergency use.

The 3 million vaccines to Afghanistan are part of vaccines which was promised by the US President to share globally by end of June.

So far, Afghanistan received 968,000 doses of Oxford–AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine from India and 400,000 Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines from China.

Meanwhile, the United Stated said, oxygen and other supplies will be provided to Afghanistan as soon as coming days.

This comes as Afghanistan has recorded 1,532 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 4,540 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
