US drone attack in Pakistan leaves three deadAccording to Pakistan intelligence officials, a uspected U.S. drone fired two missiles at what is thought to be a militant hideout in northwest Pakistan’s North Waziristan region.

The officials further added, three people died in the attack in Ghulam Khan Tehsil, near the border with Afghanistan.

They said two missiles were fired at the compound located in Bangi Dar area near the Afghan border. Local people retrieved the bodies, the sources said, adding the dead could not be identified.

This comes as the intelligence committee of the US senate is due to receive a classified document on Thursday which will seek justification of the U.S. administration’s policy of targeting Americans overseas via drone attacks in counterterrorism operations, chairwoman Dianne Feinstein said late Wednesday.

Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Sherry Rehman, told journalists on Tuesday that CIA drone strikes are a “direct violation of our sovereignty” and are doing more harm than good by encouraging anti-American extremism in Pakistan’s tribal regions.
