At least ten suspected militants were killed following a US drone strike in North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan.
According to Pakistani security officials, the airstrike was carried out early Wednesday in Alwara Mandi area in Datta Khel district.
The officials further added that the drone targeted a vehicle, leaving at least ten people including foreign nationals dead.
In the meantime, Pakistani intelligence sources are saying between five and eight militants. six locals and two foreigners were killed in the strike.
North Waziristan is located near the Durand Line and is home to terrorist groups including Pakistani Taliban and Haqqani terrorist network, which is used as a launching pad for attacks on Afghan and NATO troops across the border.
The United States has long urged Pakistan to crack down on the Taliban stronghold in North Waziristan.
The Pakistani military announced an anti-Taliban offensive there in June and claimed it has killed hundreds of militants during the operation, including a senior commander who was released from jail in Afghanistan.
