Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said on Friday that Washington deliberately escalates the Ukraine conflict by sending sophisticated weapons to Kyiv.

The Russian envoy pointed out that the United States and its allies have put everything on Ukraine’s card to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.

His remarks came days after the United States and Germany announced sending sophisticated military supplies including ‘Leopard 2 and Abrams Tanks’ to Ukraine. According to American and German officials, the latest military package which includes tanks is aimed at reinforcing the Ukrainian army’s strength on the battleground.

Meanwhile, other NATO state members are expected to continue unwavering military support to Ukraine which may include missiles, ammunitions, training Ukrainian soldiers, and more.

Antonov expressed his thoughts on Russians’ deep sense of patriotism and love for defending the national interest of their country and the war in Ukraine. He further added any attempt to harm the Russian Federation is doomed to failure. The sooner the United States realizes this, the sooner the current conflict will end, the Russian envoy concluded, according to TASS News Agency.

On Friday, Pentagon announced further military assistance to Ukraine. The new military package will include sophisticated ammunition and military supplies. According to the Pentagon’s estimate, the US has spent over $29.3 billion on military aid for Ukraine since the launch of Russia’s special military operation on February 24, 2022.

With the US and NATO member states accelerating their military supports to Ukraine forces, there seems no sign of the ending of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in the coming months. The continuation of the war will destabilize the global economy, engage either directly or indirectly more countries in the conflict, and causes the death of more lives from both warring parties.
