The US Embassy in Afghanistan condemns the recent attacks on civilians by the Taliban and called for an immediate end to the ongoing violence.

The US Embassy in Afghanistan published a statement saying that attacks that are carried out in districts have targeted innocent civilians and infrastructure in Afghanistan and called for an end to the ongoing violence by the Taliban.

“Afghans deserve to live freely without fear, and they have seen enough of the violence”, the statement added.

According to the statement by the U.S Embassy in Kabul, over the last 12 years of war, over 38,000 Afghan civilians have been killed and over 70,000 have been injured, millions of other Afghans have suffered due to the death or injury of a loved one.

US Embassy also stressed that they are committed to assist and provide financial support to the Afghan security forces.

This comes as that the US President Biden promised to provide 3.3 billion to Kabul over the next two years to support Afghan security forces battling the Taliban. The U.S will also provide military equipments including aircrafts to strengthen the Afghan Air Force.
