Simultaneously with recent Russian ground attacks in northern Ukraine, the United States announced its $400 million aid package to Ukraine.

On Saturday, May 11, international media reported that this new military aid package to Ukraine includes ammunition for missile defence systems and other munitions and equipment.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated, “This package includes ammunition for Patriot missile systems, Javelin anti-aircraft missiles, 15mm shells, Javelin and TOW missiles, AT-4 anti-armour systems, Bradley armoured vehicles, and mine-resistant vehicles.”

This new military aid package follows the US Congress’s approval of a $60.8 billion military aid bill for Ukraine last month.

This action from the White House comes as Russian forces on Friday, May 10, began ground attacks around Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, opening a new front in northeastern Ukraine.

Russia initiated aggression against Ukraine over two years ago, and this invasion continues unabated.
