Pentagon spokesperson John Kerby during a press conference said the US military has launched four airstrikes including in strategic province, Kandahar.
The aerial strikes were conducted in support of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces and have targeted military equipment seized by the Taliban.

The equipment includes an artillery piece and a vehicle.
John Kerby though did not disclose the locations from where the strikes were launched, the US has various aircraft based in the Middle East including warplanes aboard an aircraft carrier, fighters, and bombers in the Persian Gulf area.
The airstrikes were requested by ANDSF, said the official.
Meanwhile, US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin in a Pentagon press conference on Thursday said the US government is committed to helping Afghan security forces and the Afghan government.
Austin also said that they have the capability in the region not only for observing any potential terrorism and violence emerging from Afghanistan threatening the US but also for addressing in case the threat emerges.
As security in Afghanistan is in its worst state ever in the past two decades and the Taliban have unprecedented territorial gains, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani announced a new six-month security scheme which he believes to change the situation.
