Up to 40 Taliban militants killed, wounded in Special Forces operations, airstrikes

Up to 40 Taliban militants were killed or wounded during the operations of Afghan Special Forces and airstrikes which were carried out in the past 24 hours in 4 provinces of the country.

According to informed military sources, at least 3 Taliban militants were killed in Special Forces operation and airstrike which were carried out in Sheikhabad and Sayyidabad districts of Maidan Wardak province.

The sources further added that Afghan Special Forces carried out a similar operation in Zurmat district of Paktiya while separate airstrikes were also carried out in Zurmat and Gomal districts of the province leaving at least 12 Taliban militants dead.

In the meantime, the Afghan Special Forces carried out an operation in Lalak district of Kandahar killing 1 Taliban fighter while 11 militants were killed during the airstrikes which were conducted in Beghal, Maywand, and Khakrez districts, the sources said.

The sources also added that 9 Taliban militants were killed and 3 others were wounded in separate airstrike which were conducted in Sangin and Nahr-e-Saraj districts.
