Armed robbers shot and killed a money changer (Sarraf) on the Baghlan – Samangan highway, according to local sources in Samangan province.

The incident occurred on Monday, 6th June, in Rabatak, Aybak city, the center of Samangan province, according to sources.

Haji Ahmad Sarraf’s vehicle was stopped by unknown men in the area, and he was shot by robbers after taking $80,000, according to relatives of the money changer.

The money was allegedly transported to Pul-e-Khumri, the capital of Baghlan province, for sale by the money changer. He also coordinated in the WhatsApp group of money changers before transferring this sum of money.

The Taliban in Samangan have not yet released any details regarding the incident, nor have they reported that the offenders have been apprehended or detained.

Previously, on 5th June, an elderly man was shot and killed on Sunday evening at Tamran Bazaar in Daikundi’s Pato district. According to sources, the killing was driven by personal animosity, and the Taliban confirmed it and said two people had been arrested in connection with it.
