United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund announced that they will launch the first country-wide polio vaccination campaign in Afghanistan on Monday, November 8.

The de-facto authorities in Afghanistan-the Taliban- allowed UNICEF to apply the vaccination around the country after bilateral discussion.

This will be the first time for country-wide polio vaccination in Afghanistan.

UNICEF has called the drops of vaccine as efficient and has asked parents in Afghanistan to get their children vaccinated to prevent paralysis of their children.

The expected ten million Afghan children who are planning to get vaccinated include 3.3 million those who were deprived of the drops in the past.

Not only the drops of polio but the children will also be given vitamin A.

Afghanistan along with neighboring Pakistan is now the only country on earth that is yet to be free polio.
