The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that it distributes drinking water daily to over 30,000 people in this province’s villages.

This organization stated on Monday, June 3, on its social media platform X that some of the water supply networks in Ghor province have been destroyed due to recent floods.

According to UNICEF, over 400 houses have been destroyed in Ghor province due to recent floods. The organization has also distributed blankets, children’s clothing, and hygiene items to affected families.

The United Nations Children’s Fund emphasizes the life of a flood-affected child in Ghor province, highlighting that a 5,000-liter truck distributes drinking water to children and families in this province.

UNICEF has warned of the devastating effects of floods in Afghanistan and added that Afghan children are more vulnerable to climate change than in other parts of the world.

This comes as several international organizations have consistently warned of the climatic effects in Afghanistan, leading to natural disasters, including drought, water scarcity, destructive floods, and heat waves.
