The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has warned about the consequences of the war on children in Gaza, stating that 90% of children have been deprived of healthy growth due to lack of access to necessary water and food.

In a message released today, Thursday, June 6, UNICEF described the impact of the war on children as “horrific.”

The message states that access to healthy food for children has been limited or completely disrupted, and the disruption of health services due to several months of conflict in Gaza has placed children and their families in a disastrous situation.

According to UN assessments of the situation of children in Gaza, the current situation and its continuation expose children to malnutrition, which will be irreparable.

Notably, according to Al Jazeera reports, more than 36,500 people have been killed since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

The US president has proposed a four-part plan to achieve a ceasefire and bring stability to the region. The first part involves an immediate cessation of hostilities by all parties to allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need.

This step aims to provide relief to the civilian population and address urgent needs such as food, water, and medical supplies.

The second, third, and fourth parts are humanitarian aid, the release of hostages, and the reconstruction of Gaza.
