Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, died on May 13, according to the state news agency WAM.

He was UAE’s second president.

Official mourning and half-mast flags will be observed for 40 days, beginning Friday, according to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.

Ministries, departments, federal and local institutions, as well as the business sector, will be suspended for three days.
