
A U.S. military helicopter made a hard landing in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan earlier today due to a mechanical failure.
A coalition official confirmed the incident adding that the incident did not inflict any casualty on anyone.
The official further added that the helicopter made an emergency landing due to mechanical failure.
The official also confirmed that there was no enemy fire at the time of the incident.
Helmand is among the relatively volatile provinces in South of Afghanistan.
The Afghan forces routinely conduct counter-terrorism operations to suppress the anti-government armed elements in Helmand.
The U.S. based in Afghanistan also provide close air support to Afghan forces during their counter-terrorism operations.
