The U.S. Special Advisor for Afghanistan Reconciliation Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad described the UAE talks on Afghan peace process as’productive’ as the two day negotiations hosted Abu Dhabi ended today.
Khalilzad in a Twitter post said he had productive meetings in UAE with the Afghan and international partners to promote intra-Afghan dialogue towards ending the conflict in Afghanistan.
“The two-day Afghan reconciliation conference fructified intangible results that are positive for all parties concerned,” the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The source further added that another round of talks will be held in Abu Dhabi to complete the Afghanistan reconciliation process.
“Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates extend their thanks to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani as well as the US, Pakistani and Taliban delegations for their effective participation and support for ensuring the success of the conference,” the report added.
