Taliban militants killed in Afghanistan operationsAt least two Taliban militants were killed and another one was injured following an explosion in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan.

According to local government officials, the incident took place late Friday evening in chapa district of Kunar province.

Provincial security chief, Abdul Habib Syed Khel confirming the report, said the militants were looking attack Afghan public order police forces on Friday evening.

Mr. Syed Khel further added that the two Taliban militants were killed after a missile went off, while they were trying to attack the police forces.

He said another militant was also injured in the incident. Taliban group yet to comment regarding the report.

Kunar is among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where Taliban militants and insurgents from the other militant networks are openly operating.

Kunar is also considered to be a hotbed of insurgents both for the Afghan and Pakistani militants, as Kunar province has border with the tribal regions of Pakistan.
