Kunar provinceAfghan national police (ANP) forces arrested two suicide bombers during an operation in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan.

Interior ministry officials announced Tuesday that the two suicide bombers were arrested in Nari district, while they were planning to carry out a suicide attack.

The officials further added that the detained bombers have confessed that they were deployed to Kunar province from the other side of the border for insurgency attacks.

In the meantime, the interior ministry following a statement said that four Taliban militants were arrested by Afghan security forces during joint military operations.

The statement furhter added that the militants were arrested during operations conducted by Afghan police, Afghan army and Afghan intelligence operatives in Nangarhar, Kapisa, Zabul and Farah provinces.

Afghan security forces also seized weapons, ammuntions, explosives and six improvised explosives (IEDs) during the operations, the statement addded.

Anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban militants has not commented regarding the reports so far.
