Helmand-Provincial police headquartersA bomb blast has claimed the lives of two policemen in Lashkargah, the capital of southern Helmand province.

Omar Zwak, spokesperson for the province’s governor said it was a planted Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that detonated on a police vehicle in Bolan area of the city late yesterday.

The governor’s spokesperson added that the ford-ranger police vehicle badly damaged and two policemen embraced martyrdom in the explosion.

No group has claimed responsibility for Saturday’s explosion but Taliban have been held responsible for this kind of attacks in the past.
