Two heroin smugglers have been arrested from Kabul and Herat International airports before they manage to smuggle a large quantity of heroin abroad.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) in a statement said the two individuals were looking to smuggle more than three kilograms of heroin from the two airports.

The statement further added that the two men were arrested during the operations of the Afghan Border Police forces.

According to MoI, the Border Police forces have confiscated six kilo and three hundred eighty six grams of heroin during the operation.

The Ministry of Interior also added that the smugglers had placed the heroin inside pomegranates in a very professional manner.

The Interior Ministry has not disclosed further information regarding the detained individuals in its statement.
