At least two Afghan national army soldiers were killed or injured following an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in western Badghis province of Afghanistan.
Local officials in Badghis province said the incident took place late Saturday in Bala Morghab district.
Provincial governor spokesman, Mirwaid Mirzakwal confirming the report said one Afghan national army soldier was killed and another soldier was injured following the blast.
Mirzakwal further added that the incident took place after a vehicle of the Afghan soldiers struck with the roadside bomb in Bala Morghab district.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
Baadghis is among the relatively peaceful provinces in western Afghanistan, but the Taliban militants are active in a number of its districts.
Taliban militants frequently use improvised explosive device as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan security forces and Afghan government officials.
