Two back-to-back explosions on Tuesday evening rocked capital Kabul city, leaving civilian casualties, officials said.

Kabul police confirmed the death of 10 civilians and injury of another 12 Kabul citizens in a twin IED blast on two coaster buses on Tuesday evening.

The incident happened in Sar-e-Kariz area of PD3 at around 7:30, on Tuesday evening, the police said.

According to he reports, two public transportation coaster buses were targeted by IED bomb explosions.

No groups or individuals have so far claimed the responsibility for the explosions.

The number of security incidents in the last months indicate an increase in violence, mainly targeting civilians, social activists, journalists and government officials despite on-going peace negotiations between the Taliban and the Afghanistan negotiation team.

UNAMA has asked both parties to reduce violence for progress in Afghanistan peace negotiations and has called on both Afghanistan National Army and Taliban to do much in order to protect civilians from harm.
