Turkmen Foreign Minister, Raşit Meredow arrived in Kabul on Friday to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation with the Afghan government.

Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry stated, that Meredow was welcomed by Mirwais Nab, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs at the Hamid Karzai International Airport.

Meredow is scheduled to meet President Ashraf Ghani, Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar, and National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib.

The Turkmen foreign affairs delegate will discuss bilateral cooperation agreements with the Afghan officials.

Meredow will reportedly discuss Akinato to Andkhui Railway line project, Electoral Energy Project from Kerki-Andkhoi-Puli Khumri.

Afghan and Turkmen officials are also expected to discuss Fiber Optic Cable line in relations to internet expansion from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan

During his visit, Meredow will also sign a memorandum of understanding, an MoU on Political Consultation, MoU on Agriculture Quarantine, on Security and Protocol, an MoU will also be signed related to Gas and Oil, the statement read.
