American President Donald Trump on Monday, approved an emergency declaration for Washington, DC, nation’s capital amid local and government authorities concerns of violence during the inauguration.

The declaration was approved through January 24, covering Joe Biden’s Inauguration on January 20th.

White House Press Secretary said in a statement, “Today, President Donald J. Trump declared that an emergency exists in the District of Columbia and ordered Federal assistance to supplement the District’s response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from the 59th Presidential Inauguration from January 11 to January 24, 2021,”.

The emergency declaration will authorize the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland security to coordinate with local and state authorities in case of a heightened possibility of violence in the lead-up to and during Joe Biden’s inauguration.

According to US media, Muriel Bowser, Washington DC Mayor had already declared a 15 day public emergency following the pro-Trump demonstrations and swarming of the Capitol Hill on January 6th.

Brower joined by Virginia Governor Ralph Northam and Maryland Governor, Larry Hogan urged the public to stay away from the inaugural event due to last week’s violent insurrection and the prevention of the Deadly COVID-19 virus.

FBI- Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States has also warned about plans of “armed” protests from January 16 through January 20th in Washing DC.
