Monday, December 19, 2011 – According to local authorities in northern Afghanistan, at least three Afghan civilians were killed and six others were injured following a traffic incident in northern Baghlan province.

The incident took place early Monday after a civilian hatchback car fall inside a river in Sher Jalal valley.

The wounded civilians were taken to central Baghlan district hospital for the treatment purposes.

According to healthcare officials, at least four of the wounded civilians are in a critical condition.

In the meantime, chief of the traffic accidents in provincial security commandment for northern Baghlan province Syed Alam confirming the incident said, a team has been sent to the area of the incident to further assess the nature of the accident.

Local residents in the area while expressing concerns for the growing traffic accidents in the region said, majority of the incidents take place as a result of careless driving by less experienced drivers.
